Music and Drama Boost Care Home Residents’ Memories

UK Care Homes

Musical activities and drama can improve the cognitive abilities and memory recall of people living in care homes according to a new report.

The innovative adoption of dance, drama and music can soothe and stimulate residents, bringing back memories from the past and help to engage underused but still active areas of the brain.

Other benefits for dementia sufferers included a boost in residents’ mental health, self-esteem and self-confidence, after they started getting involved in drama, dance and music.
