According to a recent report on the Emirates 24/7 News site, Dubai is working on a range of programmes aimed at making it the lowest carbon footprint city in the world.
These include initiatives aimed at improving and expanding district cooling facilities by 2030, new rules and regulations for green buildings, the rehabilitation of existing buildings, regulations and standards for energy efficiency, reuse of waste water for use in irrigation and technology to raise the efficiency of street lighting. The Shams Dubai Initiative aims to transform Dubai into the city with the lowest carbon footprint in the world.
While the above initiatives focus mainly on energy consumption and are designed to meet the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, transforming the emirate into an international hub for clean energy and the green economy, concern with the environmental is everyone’s business.
We at Arpal Gulf are proud to play our part. Please see our recent series of blog posts on green issues in commercial cleaning.
